Description:
Eskom on Tuesday announced the suspension of daytime load shedding until 4pm.
Article:
The utility had previously said it would be implementing stage 1 load shedding from 5am on Tuesday.
Stage 3 load shedding is expected to resume at 4pm.
Spokesperson Daphne Mokwena says the break in the planned power cuts is due to improved generation capacity and performance.
"With the improved available generation capacity and breakdowns significantly reduced to 13 577MW of generation capacity, load shedding will be suspended from 9am today (Tuesday) until 4pm.
"Thereafter, Stage 3 load shedding will resume as previously communicated from 16:00 until 05:00 on Wednesday. Eskom is closely monitoring the system performance and will communicate a further update this afternoon.”
